In the first leg of the quarterfinals of this season’s Champions League, in what was a one-sided game. Despite being the reigning six-time Champions League winners, Bayern suffered a humiliating loss against Manchester City on their home turf.

Erling Haaland, who has scored 45 goals in 39 matches, broke the record for the most goals scored in a single season by a Premier League player, surpassing the records held by Van Nistelrooy and Salah. With more than 10 games left to play, Haaland is expected to further expand his historic achievement.

Meanwhile, Bayern suffered their biggest loss in the Champions League knockout rounds in eight years.

Taking over Bayern Munich midway through the season, Julian Nagelsmann chose a difficult path. In less than 20 days, Bayern Munich has been knocked out of the DFB-Pokal Cup and their Champions League campaign seems to be all but over. Despite the possibility of losing two championship opportunities in a short period of time, the Bayern Munich hierarchy will not blame Nagelsmann for their recent struggles.

After the game, Nagelsmann expressed that the team lacked a bit of luck: “I think we deserved to score, at least 1-2 goals. If you perform well in the game, you need to score, and the situation would be completely different. But we were exactly the opposite.”

🤔 Do you think Bayern Munich has a chance to make a comeback against Manchester City in the second leg?
